A: During the pre-inspection, we will take a walk around the property with you. We will ask you to show us any stains, and give a bit of background on them. Most stains can be removed, however we will never make any guarantee of removal.
Q: What should I do about the furniture in the room?
A: We will happily move any light furniture that can be safely moved by a single technician (such as dining chairs, small coffee tables, or bedside stands). We kindly ask that you remove small objects, toys, and breakables from the area before we arrive. Please note that in most cases, it is not necessary to move large furniture (like heavy wardrobes, beds, or large sofas). Since these areas don't get foot traffic, they usually remain clean. Furthermore, placing heavy furniture back onto a damp carpet can trap moisture, causing unpleasant odors or even damaging the carpet fibers.
Q: Can you give me a quotation over the phone/Internet?
A: Yes! There is no need for us to visit your home. In fact, in most cases, you can simply send us a couple of quick photos of the rooms or items via WhatsApp, and we can give you an accurate quote right away. Please note that commercial properties will still require an on-site visit for us to measure up and assess the space properly.
Q: What is the estimated drying time?
A: The cleaning will leave your carpets or upholstery damp and they will dry naturally during the course of the day within several hours.
Q: How quickly can I get my carpet or upholstery cleaned?
A: We will try to get you an appointment within 24hrs of contacting us. However, especially during the summer, it is not unheard of to be booked up for 2 to 4 days in advance so we highly recommend booking in advance.
Q: How many times a year should I have my carpets cleaned?
A: Cleaning frequency depends on a number of things such as the number of occupants in the household, pets, smokers and children. On average you should clean your carpets every six months to a year depending on soiling levels.
Q: Can you remove wine, tea, coffee, etc?
A: Some stains can be permanent and therefore we can’t make any promises that we can remove them. We usually get better results if we attempt to remove the stain before anyone else tries.
Q: Can pet odours and urine be removed?
A: This is a question we receive quite often. The deodoriser in our cleaning solution will deal with most pet odours. We use professional spotters specifically designed for the removal of urine. However, as above we never make any guarantee of full removal.
Q: Can steam cleaning damage my carpet?
A: No. Hot water extraction is considered to be the best method for removing embedded soil and other contaminants. It is also the preferred cleaning method by the leading carpet manufacturers. In some situations we do not use “Steam cleaning” this is when cleaning wool products, and basically any other heat sensitive fabric.
Q: My carpets smell like wet dog after they have been cleaned. Why is this?
A: This is normal with wool carpets and will dissipate in several days. The “Doggy” smell you can notice is lanolin, which is naturally secreted by sheep. This is what makes their coats waterproof, and this often results in wool smelling more strongly when wet – don't worry, the smell will pass.
Q: Why does my carpet look wavy or have "bubbles" after it has been cleaned?
A: Don't worry, this is a very common and temporary phenomenon known as carpet rippling or buckling. It happens when the carpet backing absorbs moisture during the deep cleaning process, causing the fibers and latex adhesive to expand slightly. If the carpet was already a bit loose, this minor expansion creates temporary waves.
The ripples will naturally disappear on their own once the carpet is completely dry. However, it is very important that you do not place any heavy furniture back onto the carpet while it is still damp. Heavy items will weigh the carpet down and prevent the fibers from contracting properly, which can stop the carpet from laying flat again.
Q: Is the price you quote the price I will pay?
A: Absolutely. The price we quote is the price you pay. The only exceptions are if you ask us to clean additional items or rooms while we are on-site, or if the items differ significantly from the original description (for example, if a "2-seater sofa" turns out to be a large 3-seater or a sectional). We will always discuss any adjustments with you before we begin.
